COSMETIC DERMATOLOGY

  • PN or PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide): is a biostimulant derived from salmon/trout sperm DNA or and is used for its regenerative properties. PDRN promotes tissue repair, enhances skin healing and stimulates collagen & protein production. It’s often used in treatments for skin rejuvenation, wound healing and improving skin elasticity, making your skin look younger

Sculptra: contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible substance that stimulates collagen production in the skin. It is primarily used for facial volumization and to treat signs of aging, such as wrinkles, acne scars, and sagging skin. Unlike traditional fillers that are hyaluronic acid based and that provide immediate results, Sculptra works gradually over several months to restore facial volume without hyaluronic acid. Treatments typically require multiple sessions for optimal results.

Exosomes: As we age, our cells have difficulty producing the proteins and enzymes needed to help keep our skin healthy and balanced. With exosomes, new proteins can be generated and stimulated within our skin. They restore balance and give it a much more youthful appearance. They reduce inflammation, restore collagen production, reduce wrinkles and help revive dull looking skin while helping it stay hydrated. They can be harvested from placenta, fats or plants.

Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid based treatment that is injected into the skin to hydrate, tighten and improve skin texture. It stimulates collagen and elastin production improving skin laxity, fine lines and overall skin rejuvenation. The treatment typically involves 2 sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart. It can be done on the face, neck or body.

  • Botulinum toxin type A is derived from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. It works by temporarily relaxing muscles and was first used for medical purposes, though it’s now widely popular in cosmetic treatments. These standards were approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. As a cosmetic option, it uses a purified form of the toxin to temporarily ease facial muscles, smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines. It’s commonly applied to areas like the forehead, crow’s feet, and the space between the eyebrows (glabella). It can also be used to sharpen the jawline, improve the neck wrinkles, treat the downturning of the mouth, treat ‘’orange skin’’ on the chin, thin the face, treat smoker’s lines around the mouth, and relax the orbicularis oris also called ‘’lip flip’’. Botulinum Toxin can be used for various medical purposes, including: treating conditions like chronic migraines, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), teeth grinding, strabismus, muscle spasticity and certain bladder disorders. Botox effects typically last between 3 to 6 months. The process involves:

    1. Consultation

    2. Preparation

    3. Injection

    4. Aftercare

Results generally start to appear within 3 to 5 days and fully settle in about 2 weeks.

  • A chemical peel is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin directly to remove the top layers. The skin that grows back is smoother, and clearer. They are usually applied to areas such as the face, underarms and intimate areas. There are different types of chemical peels depending on the indication, and the depth of the peel. With a light or medium peel, you may need to undergo the procedure more than once to get the desired results. Deeper chemical peels offer more-dramatic results but also take longer to recover from. Chemical peels are used to treat wrinkles, discolored skin and pigmentation, scars, active acne, rosacea, and pores. They can be done alone or combined with other cosmetic procedures.

  • Dermal filler injections are a non-surgical cosmetic procedure designed to restore volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. People often opt for dermal fillers to accentuate their facial features or achieve a more youthful look.

The procedure typically takes under 30 minutes to 1h, with minimal recovery time.

Results are immediate and can last anywhere from several months to years, depending on the type of filler and the treated area.

As you age, your body produces less collagen, which can lead to skin laxity (looseness) and a loss of volume. This causes skin to become thinner, lose elasticity, and begin to sag.

One common type of dermal filler contains hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in your skin. Hyaluronic acid helps maintain volume and hydration in the skin, but production of it decreases with age. Injections of hyaluronic acid typically last between six months and a year. Make sure to always use hyaluronic acid fillers that can be dissolved.

Dermal fillers can be used to:

    • Add volume to sagging skin

    • Improve facial symmetry

    • Plump lips and cheeks

    • Smooth out facial wrinkles and lines

    Deep vs. Superficial Dermal Fillers:

Deep Dermal Fillers: Used for volumizing and contouring, these fillers are injected into deeper skin layers, providing structural support for the face.

Superficial Dermal Fillers (Skin Boosters): These are injected into the upper layers of the skin, focusing on hydration and skin texture improvement, enhancing overall skin quality and elasticity.
